Jack David Alexander

ENDEAVOR / MOUNDVILLE TWP.  --    Jack David Alexander, age 62, of the Township of Moundville, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014, surrounded by family at his home, following a nine month battle with cancer.

Jack was born on August 25, 1952 in Portage, the son of Glenn and Agnes (Turner) Alexander.  He was married to Patricia Moore on August 25, 1984 in Endeavor.  Jack had worked as a mechanic for Tri-Enda for 27 years, and at Wade Implement prior to that.  He was the Endeavor Fire Chief for 15 years and was on the Fire Department for many years.  Jack was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Endeavor.  He loved to hunt, fish, and watch the Packers and NASCAR.  In his spare time, Jack tinkered with anything that had a motor, and raised cattle with his wife.   

He is survived by his wife, Patty, Endeavor;  two children, Brandy (Kurt) Larson, Beloit, and Travis Alexander, Endeavor;  two grandchildren, Mason Williams and Olivia Larson;  his parents, Glenn and Agnes Alexander, Endeavor;  two sisters, Kathie (Jim Hutchinson) Prate, Endeavor and Tracy (Paul Forehand) Alexander, Longmont, Colorado;  his mother-in-law, Darlene Moore, South Beloit;  two brothers-in-law, Steve (Kari) Moore, Briggsville, and Russell Moore, Rockton, IL;  special friends, Wesley, Dean and Jerry;  his dog, Lexy;  other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Larry Moore, and his brother-in-law, Bob Prate.     

Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with Pastor Marjorie Rice Myers officiating.  Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.
