Kathie J. Hintz

PARDEEVILLE  /  PORTAGE  --  Kathie J. Hintz, age 62, of Pardeeville, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at University Hospital in Madison, after a long battle with kidney disease.

Kathie was born on April 16, 1952 in Portage, the daughter of Emil and Edna (Spath) Abegglen.  She was married on September 20, 1975 to Robert Hintz at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage.  Kathie enjoyed spending time with her family, and was dearly devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren.  She had worked as a nurse.  Kathie loved to sew anything and everything.  She also loved fishing.  Even though Kathie suffered with many medical issues, she never complained about anything and always remained upbeat and positive.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, Pardeeville;  her mother, Edna Abegglen;  her children, Beth Kay (Roy) Rozanske, White, GA, Teri (Tom) Burns, Pardeeville, and Robert Hintz, Jr., Pardeeville;  her grandson, Robert Hintz, III;  her sister, June (Ken Marino) Gwin, Browns Mills, NJ;  her special canine friend, Doc;  nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her father, Emil, her mother and father-in-law, Robert and Leola Hintz, and her brother-in-law, Charles Gwin.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage, with the Rev. Wayne Dobratz officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church.
