Beatrice P. Stowell

WYOCNEA – Beatrice P. Stowell, age 91, died on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Columbia Healthcare Center in Wyocena.

Beatrice was born on May 21, 1922, in Brooks, Adam County, the daughter of David L. and Mary E. (Crown) Pike.  She was married to Floyd W. “Bud” Stowell in 1944 at the Briggsville United Methodist Church.  Floyd preceded her in death.  Beatrice had worked at Brakebush in Westfield, the Weyenburg Shoe Factory in Portage and Johnson Mechanical in Portage.  She loved sewing, needle point, reading, and watching the Brewers.  

Beatrice is survived by her children, David (Rena) Stowell, of Oxford, Dennis (Ona) Stowell, of Wisconsin Dells, Sue (John) Gajdosik, of Perryville, KY, Jean (Bob) Olivares, of Wisconsin Dells, and Danny (Wanda) Stowell, of Pardeeville; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd, her brother, John Pike, and her sister, Norma Smith. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Briggsville United Methodist Church with Reverend Julie Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow in Briggsville Protestant Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
