Helene M. Auck

PORTAGE – Helene M. Auck, age 98, passed away peacefully at Heritage House in Portage on Sunday, December 2, 2018.

Helene was born on March 24, 1920, in Caledonia Township, the daughter of William and Augusta (Petra) Rubin. She graduated from Portage High School. Helene was united in marriage to Albert Auck on January 8, 1946, in Portage. She had worked for General Telephone, Divine Savior Hospital and Wilz Drug. Helene loved all sports, especially Brewers baseball, playing cards, baking, and Ho-Chunk. She was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Gary) Scheppke of Portland, OR; son, Edward Auck of Laguna Nigel, CA; grandchildren, Jeff Rataczak, Gary (Jill) Scheppke, Marci (Andy) Bean, Rachel Auch, Nicole Auch; great-grandchildren, Kati (Ryan) Armson, Moriah Rataczak, Eleanor and Hannah West Scheppke, Daisy Bean; great-great-granddaughter, Kennedy Armson; son-in-law, Charlie Mantey of Portage; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; daughter, Kathy Mantey; brother, Bill Rubin; sisters, Eleanor Rubin and LaVerne M. Warner.

There will be a private family service held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage or the Portage Service Clubs Association for the Pauquette Park Project, P O Box 1, Portage WI 59301.

The family would like to thank Paula Hibner, the entire staff and residents at Heritage House, Generations Hospice, and Dr. Susan Kreckman for their care and support.
