Kathleen M. Duffy

PORTAGE –  On Friday, June 29, 2018, after a life filled with love, faith, family and service, Kathleen M. Duffy, 88, passed from this earth to eternal life.

Kathleen was born on July 6, 1929 in Caledonia Township, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Johannah (O’Brien) Dushek.  She was married on May 4, 1957 at St. Mary Church in Portage to Maurice Duffy, who preceded her in death on August 25, 2015.  Kathleen was a very active member at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and School, TRIAD, and a 4-H Leader.

She is survived by her daughters, Marie (Paul) Metz, Fairbanks, Alaska, Carol (William) Austin, Portage, Rita (Jerome) Perez, Prescott, Arizona, Jane (Thomas) Baeten, Ashwaubenon, and Judy (Gerald) Benish, Mineral Point;  her grandchildren, Kathleen, Elizabeth (Max Lesatz) and Patrick Austin, Lucas (Brooklyn) and Logan Benish, Troy Metz, William and Madalyn Baeten;  her brothers, Bernard (Mary Jean) Dushek and M. James Dushek; her sister-in-law, Bea Duffy;  many nieces, nephews, other close relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Maurice, her daughter, Karen Duffy, her brothers, Harold, Arthur, and Robert Dushek, her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Portage.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary School or the American Heart Association.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hamilton Park Place, Tivoli and Agrace HospiceCare for their loving care and support.
