Michael John Koch

POYNETTE – Michael John Koch, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Poynette on Monday, August 13, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Mike was born on October 25, 1948, in Milwaukee, the son of Loren and Marcella (Hurley) Koch. He was united in marriage with Christine Rittmeyer on December 2, 1995. Mike worked as a rural mail carrier for the United States Post Office prior to his retirement in 2007. He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Portage Country Club. He enjoyed Badger sports and a good Brandy Old Fashion.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Koch of Poynette; daughters, Jennifer Koch of Verona, Lori (David) Rasmussen of Janesville; grandchildren, Joshawa and Jacob Gray; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary (Miller) Koch; sister, Marian (Koch) Schleck; and brother, Daniel Koch.   

Funeral services will be held at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette, Wisconsin, on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., with Pastor Christopher Amen officiating. Private burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Poynette. Visitation will be at the funeral home on August 16 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
