Jurgen E. “Jerry” Krisch

McFARLAND/MONTELLO – Jurgen E. “Jerry” Krisch passed away peacefully on September 30, 2018, at the age of 70, surrounded by many friends and family.

Jerry was born on April 27, 1948 in Berlin, Germany, the son of Gunter M. and Helga A. (Schönfeld) Krisch. He grew up in Chicago after immigrating with his family to the United States in 1951. He relocated to Madison to further his education where he later married his college sweetheart, Iris Bessac on May 24, 1969. They were to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in May 2019. In 1974, Jerry and Iris moved to McFarland to raise a family. He retired from his career in customer service at Datex Ohmeda in Madison after more than three decades.

In addition to his professional career, Jerry took pride in volunteering on the McFarland EMS team. Of the many joys in his life, he previously served as president of the Viking Snow Drifters Snowmobile Club in Stoughton, a member of the EAA in Oshkosh and Corner Marshall at Road America in Elkhart Lake. Jerry expressed his love of the outdoors by enjoying the north woods and camping with his family. To further the love, Jerry and Iris followed their life-long dream of traveling the U.S. in a motorhome during the winter months.

He is survived by his wife, Iris; two daughters, Teresa Schell (Barry Ludvik), Mukwonago, WI and Dana Krisch (Joey Beyer), Punta Gorda, Florida; his sister, Rita (Don) Lippoldt, Oswego, IL; six grandchildren, Brianna Hampton (Ken Peterson), Emma Hampton (Tyler Hover), Evan Schell, Anna Schell, Taylor Ludvik and Brady Ludvik; a great-grandson, Abel Hover; in addition to dear relatives and close friends.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
