Elmer A. Roth PORTAGE / POYNETTE – Elmer A. Roth, age 79, of Portage, formerly of Poynette, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones. Elmer was born on December 29, 1938, in Roxbury, Wisconsin, the son of Alois and Helen (Seiler) Roth. He was married to Nancy Jean Freeman. Elmer was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed gardening, farming, hunting and fishing, cutting wood and mowing grass. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; six children, Connie (Stephen) Riley, Pardeeville, Ricky (Jill) Roth, Poynette, Tammy (Andy) Vernon, Briggsville, Lynne (Jack) Roth, Foley, Alabama, Lonnie (Teri) Roth, of the farm, and Becky “Anee” (Stephanie) Roth, Milwaukie, Oregon; six grandchildren, Gina (David) Stachowiak, Watertown, Danny Larson, Madison, Tanner Roth, Poynette, Miranda (Nick) Fritschler, Reedsburg, Trey Niggemann, Milwaukie, Oregon, and Dashiel Roth, Milwaukie, Oregon; great-grandchildren, Max, Jake, William and Eliana; his brothers and sisters, Mary Breunig, Sauk City, Edwin Roth, Sauk City, Norbert Roth, Roxbury, Werner (Millie) Roth, Dane, Ann Statz, Sauk City, and Gerald (Sherry) Roth, Sauk City; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Alois, Matthew, Ervin, and Florian, and two brothers in infancy. |
