Ruth H. Thompson

POYNETTE - Ruth H. Thompson, age 91, passed away peacefully at Divine Savior Tivoli on Thursday, November 1, 2018.

Ruth was born on September 29, 1927, in Wisconsin, the daughter of Otto and Leona (Gest) Lanzendorf. She married Robert M. Thompson in 1948. Ruth worked for the Poynette School District for many years. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Portage.

She is survived by her daughter, Karol (Bob) Tomlinson of Poynette; grandchildren, Kari (Jim) Langkamp of Baraboo, Eric (Adam Pfost) Tomlinson of Madison; great-grandchildren, Graham Langkamp and Annie Langkamp; sister, Mildred Bleich of Waupun; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sisters, Leola Hermanson, Dottie Haupt; brother, Wilbert Lanzendorf; nephew, Brian Bleich; and niece, Sally Miller.  

Memorial services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, W8267 Hwy 33 East, Portage, on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Jen Johnson officiating. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
