Robert “Bob” F. Wiersma

PORTAGE – Robert “Bob” F. Wiersma, age 58, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Portage on Thursday, December 6, 2018.

Robert was born on October 6, 1960, in Long Beach, CA, the son of Robert and Linda (Vandeventer) Wiersma. He married Susan Schultz on September 11, 1999, in Portage. Bob had driven truck for Adams Transit and was currently employed by AMPI in Portage. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing and building Lego Technic models.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Wiersma of Portage; son, Robert F. Wiersma of Portage; parents, Bob and Linda Wiersma of Portage; siblings, Jennie (Wayne) Dabb of Vulcan, MI, Judie Wiersma of Portage, Debbie (Greg) Lynch of Portage, Tim (Joan) Wiersma of Woodruff, SC; sister-in-law, Terri (Brian) Pulvermacher of Pardeeville; mother-in-law, Carol (Dennis) Wittig of Benson, AZ; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Kenneth.  

Memorial services will be held at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage on Monday, December 10, 2018, at 5:00 p.m., with Chaplain Nancy Davis officiating. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Agrace Hospice and Penda for their support over the last two years.
