Margaret “Marge” H. Wilson

PORTAGE – Margaret “Marge” H. Wilson, age 100, passed away peacefully at Tivoli in Portage on Sunday, August 5, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Margaret was born on October 1, 1917, in Horicon, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Lena (Ritger) Sauer. She was the owner of The Koffee Kup from 1952 until 1969. She was previously employed at Mr. Harvey’s and Brunt’s Cafe. Margaret belonged to the Senior Citizens and was president for many years. She was also a member of the Dorcas Society, Rebekah’s Lodge, Ladies Auxiliary 1707 and the United Methodist Women’s Group. She especially liked her Sheepshead Card Club, shopping, playing 500 Rummy and Spades with her family. She loved Brewer baseball, Badger football and basketball, and watching her children and grandchildren who were involved in many sporting events. Margaret loved baking for her friends in her complex.

She is survived by her daughter, Karan (Richard) Barreau of Portage; grandchildren, James (Janice) Walker, Shawn (Rebecca) Bolgrien; step-grandchildren, Brenda (Bret) Zickert, Casandra (Tim) Burk, Christina (Brian) Paske; great-grandchildren, Jared, Jalen and Jordan Walker, Mason and Mya Bolgrien; step-great-grandchildren, Paige Zickert, Mackenzie, Isabelle and Braden Burk, Emma and Logan Paske; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George, Silven, Matt, Barney and Edward; sisters, Marie and Erna.

Memorial services will be held at Portage United Methodist Church in Portage on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Tom Countryman officiating. Private inurnment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 12:00 until the time of service.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Portage United Methodist Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Tivoli, especially Clara, Heather, Hallie and Kayla, for their care and support.

In honor of Marge, the family encourages that you dress in Brewer attire.
