Kenneth R. Witt

PORTAGE – Kenneth R. Witt, 86, passed away peacefully at Waunakee Manor on Wednesday, November 28, 2018.

Ken was born on September 8, 1932, in Mt. Morris, the son of John and Gertrude (Moldenhauer) Witt. He was married to Ardith Garrison and they had three children. Ken worked for Bark River Culvert and Equipment in Madison for over 35 years and had a post retirement second career farming with Cal Dalton. Ken enjoyed hunting and collecting and working on antique gas engines. Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Ken was a former member of F&AM Masonic Lodge in Madison.

He is survived by his children, Linda (Dennis) Higginbotham of Cape Coral, FL, Diane (Kirk) Burnstad of Portage, John (Michelle) Witt of Briggsville; grandson, Brandon Witt; step-grandsons, Eric and Scott Burnstad; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Grambsch.

Memorial services will be held at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, Wisconsin, on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at 4:00 p.m., with Pastor Jen Johnson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Portage Area Veterans Honor Guard following the service. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, c/o Elks Club, 201 W. Conant St., Portage, Wisconsin 53901.
