Clark A. Bell POYNETTE -- Clark A. Bell, age 81, of Poynette, died on Friday, March 20, 2009, at Divine Savior Healthcare in Portage. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette, with Pastor Stephen L. Kurth officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, from 11:00 until the time of the services at the funeral home. Clark was born on April 13, 1927 in Lake Delton, WI, the son of Lester & Hazel (Newkirk) Bell. He graduated from Baraboo High School. He married Wanda Olson in Baraboo on May 20, 1950. Clark was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Poynette, as well as the Brandt-Pache V.F.W. #10266, in Poynette. He was a diehard Cubs fan, loved gardening, and playing cards. Survivors include his wife, Wanda, Poynette, daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Dale Horton, Pardeeville, three granddaughters, Melissa (Craig) Marchant, Waunakee, Nicole (John) Houdek, Brookfield, Amber (Duane) Hansell, Madison, four great-grandchildren, Tieranie, Danielle, Jaden and Ethan, three brothers, Charlie (Virginia) Simonds, NE, Lawrence Simonds, Beloit, and Kenny Boyd (Barb), McFarland, a sister, Roseann Simonds, Poynette, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close friends. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Barbara, in 1969, two brothers, Artie and Kenny Bell, and a sister, Lillian Davis.
