Irene (McMahon) Kamrath Blake

PARDEEVILLE/PORTAGE  --  Irene (McMahon) Kamrath Blake, age 93, of Pardeeville, died on Friday, January 16, 2009 at her residence at the Remington House in Pardeeville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage with Fr. Jim Murphy presiding. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the funeral home.

Irene was born on August 26, 1915 in Lewiston Township, the daughter of Michael and Catherine (Walker) McMahon. She worked at Weyenberg Shoe Factory in Portage for many years. Irene also worked at Central Colony, and worked as an occupational therapist at Divine Savior Nursing Home, retiring in the mid 1970’s.

She is survived by her three children, Lawrence (Carol) Kamrath, Peoria, IL, Sharon (Jack) Richter, Pardeeville, Dennis (Veronica) Kamrath, Portage; eleven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Eugene Kamrath and C. Emmett Blake, one brother, Francis Gordon McMahon, a sister, Celeste Marie McMahon in infancy, and granddaughter, Janell Richter.
