Robert S. Jones

POYNETTE  --  Robert S. Jones, age 70, of Poynette, died on Thursday, October 22, 2009, at his home in Poynette, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born on July 8, 1939 in Pasadena, CA, the son of William S. Jones and Margaret E. Fairchild Jones.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961.  Bob married Barbara Prucha on July 30, 1966. He retired from Research Products in Poynette, and served as a member of the Poynette-Dekorra Fire Department for 26 years, and the Poynette-Dekorra EMS for 10 years.  He was active in the Poynette Garden Club, the Poynette American Legion, and was a member of the Alhambra, CA Masonic Lodge.

Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara, Poynette; two daughters, Robin (Chris) McNicol, Poynette, Wendy (Michael) Schill, Arlington; two grandchildren, Ethan and Hannah McNicol; his sister, Shirley (Jerry) Klein, Tumwater, Washington; his sister-in-law, Dolores Lake, Poynette; his brother-in-law, Jerome Prucha, Poynette, other relatives and many close friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009, at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette, Military Honors will be held at the funeral home on Monday.  Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
