Dorothy Coridon

 

PORTAGE  --  Dorothy Coridon, age 92, a lifelong resident of Portage, died on Wednesday, May 20,  2009 at Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena.

Memorial Services will be on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with Rev. Tom Countryman officiating.  Inurnment will take place in Silver Lake Cemetery.      

Dorothy was born on September 20, 1916, in Goodland, Indiana, the daughter of Vern and Stella (Thompson) Yonkey.  She moved to Portage in 1921, and married John Coridon on August 7, 1948.  John preceded her in death on May 5, 2000.  Dorothy worked at Weyenberg Shoe Mfg., and at Youth Town in Portage.  She was a member of the Portage United Methodist Church, where she was a volunteer establishing the church library. 

Dorothy is survived by her nephews and nieces, Tim (Deb) Macke, St. Paul, MN, Rosemary (Tom) LaBounty, Madison, Joanne (David) Merten, West Bend, Jane (Tim) Mitchell, McFarland, Kevin (Debora) Macke, Stoughton, special friends and caregivers, Betty Tessmann, and Shirley Mittlesteadt, nine great-nieces and nephews, three great-great-nephews, and other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, a brother-in-law, Tom Coridon, sisters-in-law, Lucille Coridon, Mary Wendlick, and Eileen Macke.

Memorials may be given to the organization of your choice or the Portage United Methodist Church.
