Marguerite E. Dumbleton

PORTAGE  --  Marguerite E. Dumbleton, age 90, of Portage, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Divine Savior Healthcare Extended Care.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Portage United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tom Countryman officiating.  Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Welsh Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. 

Marguerite was born on June 3, 1918 in Waupaca, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harry and Iva (Wing) Testin.  She was married on November 5, 1938 to Reginald W. Dumbleton, who preceded her in death in 1987.  Marguerite started her career as a school teacher, studying at Stevens Point Normal College, and was a homemaker for many years to her family of ten children.  She had worked for the Quality Bakery in Portage for over six years, and at Divine Savior Nursing Home in Portage for over ten years.  She was a member of the Pythian Sisters and the Caledonia Homemakers Club.  Marguerite was an active member of the Portage United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years, and was a member of the Christian Women’s Circle.
