Gary M. Guitzkow

POYNETTE  --  Gary M. Guitzkow, age 45, of Poynette, died on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Divine Savior Healthcare Hospital in Portage.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette, with Fr. Raymond Dischler officiating.  Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette, and on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

Gary was born on May 3, 1963 in Madison, the son of Duane and Marilyn (Paar) Guitzkow.  He graduated from Madison West High School.  Gary was married on February 17, 2006 at Camp Randall Stadium to Shirley Kruchten.  He was a member of the Poynette Village Board, and currently was the UW Power Plant Manager.  Together with his father, he rebuilt a 1969 GTO Judge.  Gary was a huge NASCAR and Badger fan.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley;  his daughters, Melanie and Gabrielle, Waunakee and their mother, Cerise Massey, Waunakee;  his step-children, Angela Kruchten, Austin, Texas, Rachel Call, Madison, Jenna Doucette, Madison, and Jon Doucette, Middleton;  two step-grandchildren, Antonio Call and Emmah Doucette;  his good friend, Dave Halberslaben, Middleton; other near relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Kenneth, and his best friend and first cousin, Larry Paar.
