G. Elaine Huebner

PORTAGE  -- G. Elaine Huebner, age 95, of Portage, died on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at American Way in Portage.

Gladys was born on June 11, 1914 in Portage, the daughter of Ferdinand and Ella (Maass) Mittlestaedt.  She was married to Edward C. Huebner, who preceded her in death on May 11, 1993.  She was the last charter member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Portage.

She is survived by four children, James (Janet) Huebner, Portage, Ann (Eugene) Creamer, Gustine, CA, Dr. Tim (Pam) Huebner, Wisconsin Rapids, and Dan (Marcia) Huebner, Portage;  ten grandchildren, Matt, Perry, Pam, Stephanie, Laura, Jill, Christopher, Keith, Erin, and Scott;  seven great-grandchildren;  other near relatives and many close friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward, and her sister, Lois Markstrom in 1960.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2009 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Portage, with the Rev. Dick Inglett officiating.  Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church Building Fund or Brick Fund, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
