Rudolph S. Wolff

PORTAGE  -- Rudolph S. Wolff, age 87, of Portage died on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at his home in Portage.

Rudolph was born in Arlington, Wisconsin, on April 2, 1922, the son of Selmer Wolff and Lena (Roth) Wolff.  He married Donna Blankenship on June 15, 1950 in Prestonburg, Kentucky.  Rudolph served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II in the Signal Corp, serving in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters.  He worked for the University of Wisconsin as the chief engineer for Wisconsin Public Radio.  Rudolph was a member of the Portage Presbyterian Church, and American Legion Post #1707 of Portage. 

Rudolph is survived by his wife, Donna Wolff, Portage; his children, Judy (Fred) Taylor, Portage, Vannessa Wolff, Sun Prairie, Dave (Debbie) Wolff, DeForest; five grandchildren, Becky, Jeremy and Josh Bisbee, Chrissy (Alan) Clemens, and Jon Wolff; one great-grandson, Alex, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close friends.  Rudolph was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Minnie Bilkey, and Anna Wolff, and his brothers, Oscar and Alfred Wolff. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Portage Presbyterian Church, with Rev. David Hankins officiating.  Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home at 430 W. Wisconsin St., in Portage and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
