POYNETTE  --  Janet Elaine (Ferguson) Bergquist, of Poynette, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, October 25, 2010.

Janet was born at home on August 14, 1936 in Pecatonica, Illinois, the daughter of Arlie (Klitz) and Lowell Ferguson.  She graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1953 and was married in 1954.  They went on to have four children.  After marrying the love of her life, Charles, the couple resided in Rockford, IL, before moving to Madison, WI in 1964.  In 1975, Janet and Charles and the family moved to their land in Poynette, WI, where they built their house out in the country.  Janet enjoyed many pastimes, including cooking, canning jams, tomatoes and pickles, bowling, gardening, bird watching, and cheering for Brett Favre even after he became a Viking.  Before marrying Charles, she was a Sunday school teacher at a Lutheran Church in Pecatonica, IL.  Janet worked various jobs to help out the family and was a bookkeeper/manager with the service stations she and Charles owned.  Most of all she enjoyed time with her husband, Charles, and her family.  Her quick wit and sense of humor were with her until the end.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.  She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
