LOUIS EDWARD “MICK” BOLGRIHN


PORTAGE -- Louis Edward “Mick” Bolgrihn, age 72 found peace and comfort from pain surrounded by family on December 22, 2010.  Born May 7, 1938 he was the son of Louis and Hattie Bolgrihn. 

Mick took Kathy (Lytle) as his bride on June 17, 1961.  He loved the Lord, his family, canine companion Rooney, friends, music and cars.  He was an active member of the Portage United Methodist Church, serving in several different capacities.  After retiring from Ray-O-Vac in 2000, he was instrumental in organizing a Neighborhood Watch in his area. 

Mick will be missed by his best-friend/wife Kathy; sons Bob (Jewell) and Chris (Sandy); three wonderful grandsons Matthew (Amanda), James (Kaylynn), and Jacob, his precious granddaughter Allie, great grandsons Ethan and Aaryn, his newest great granddaughter Sophie and his constant companion Rooney.  He is further survived by his sister Marlene (Harold) Wolff, sister-in-laws Doris Bolgrihn and Vi Burris and very special nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister June Pieper, brothers Royal, Earl and Roger, and his great grandchildren Stephanie and Jason.  Mick will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28th from 5pm until 8pm at the Portage United Methodist Church, 1804 New Pinery Road, Portage, Wisconsin.  A memorial service, to celebrate his life, will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 6pm at the Portage United Methodist Church with Mick’s dear friend/Pastor Tom Countryman. A short visitation will be held prior to the celebration from 5pm to 6pm.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Portage United Methodist Church. 

The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
