Alberta M. Harralson

PORTAGE – Alberta M. Harralson, age 89 of Portage died on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Divine Savior Healthcare Hospital in Portage.

Alberta was born on June 7, 1921 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Phillip and Martha (Schrader) Bukaty. On January 16, 1943 she was married to Leonard Harralson in Kansas City, Kansas.  They worked and lived in the Chicago area until they retired and moved to Saddle Ridge because they enjoyed golfing.  On two different occasions, Alberta made a hole -in-one. Besides golfing, she liked to cook and sew; taking cooking and cake decorating classes. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, knitting sweaters and scarves for family and friends.    

She is survived by her husband, Leonard, Portage;  her sons, Bill Harralson, Minneapolis, MN and John (Silvona) Harralson, Naperville, IL;  granddaughters, Jill (Phil) Mitchell, Lees Summit, MO. Susan Harralson, Raytown, Mo, Cindy (William) McEvilly, Huntley, IL, Sandra (Daniel) Pederson, St. Anne, IL; great-grandchildren, Madison Mitchell, Kevin, Mark and Eric McEvilly, Nathan, Leanne and McKenzy Pederson; sisters, Dolores (Charles) Anderson, Climax Springs, MO, Martha Corder, Overland Park, KS; special friends, Holly Harralson, Chicago, IL, Maryellen Harralson, Oak Forest, IL;  many other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Carl Bukaty, her sisters, Wanda Sharples, Agnes Bukaty, in infancy, and her brother-in-law, Charles Corder.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage with the Fr. Jim Murphy presiding.  Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
