Maurice S. Reinen

POYNETTE  --  Maurice S. Reinen, age 90, of Poynette, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

Maurice was born on March 20, 1920, in Bristol Township, the son of Samuel and Helen (Mell) Reinen.  He married Alice Weisman on September 27, 1941.  Maurice served his country as a Military Policeman in the United States Army, from 1942 to 1945, during the European Theater of WWII.  He worked for the Wisconsin Porcelain Company in Sun Prairie for 42 years.  Maurice and his wife, Alice, moved from their ancestral home in Sun Prairie, to life near the water on Lake Wisconsin.  At the lake the whole family attended numerous gatherings where they enjoyed water skiing, fishing, barbecues, and other unnamed social fun.

Maurice is survived by his wife of 69 years, Alice Reinen, Poynette;  his sons, Dennis (Diana) Reinen, Lodi, and Douglas (Sherry) Reinen, Birchwood;  his daughter-in-law, Patricia Reinen;  his grandchildren, Todd, Jody, Greg, Jennifer, Tara and Scott;  his great-grandchildren, Corey, Shawn and Nicole, other relatives and many friends.  Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jack Reinen on October 14, 2010, a grandson, Michael Allen Reinen, his sisters, Mae, Marion, and Lorraine, his brother, Donald, and a nephew, Craig. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2011, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Poynette, with Fr. Ray Dischler presiding.  Military Honors will be provided by Poynette Area Veterans.  Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, at Sun Prairie Memory Garden in Sun Prairie.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., on Monday at the church.  Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette is assisting the family.
