Dale L. "Kermit" Rich

TWP. OF DEKORRA/POYNETTE  -- Dale L. “Kermit” Rich, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at his home in the Township of Dekorra, surrounded by his loving family, after fighting a long battle with colon cancer. 

Dale was born on March 12, 1943, in Bloomer, the son of Ralph and Florence (Thompson) Rich.  He married Rhonda Boehm from Poynette, on July 16, 1999.  Dale was very proud to be a Union Commercial Carpenter for 35 years, with Findorff and Bachmann Construction Companies.  Dale and Rhonda lived in Poynette where he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, bird watching, kayaking, and camping with his family.  Not only was carpentry his job, but it was his loving hobby also.   

Dale is survived by his wife, Rhonda, Township of Dekorra; his children, Todd (Pla) Rich, and Kyle Rich, all of California, Crystal (fiance’ Ryan) Wolf, Poynette, and Haylie Wolf, Portage; his grandson, Alex Wipperfurth; his brother, Ralph Rich, Lakeville, MN; his sisters, Betty Wheeler, North Freedom, Winifred (Bob) Schillberg, Edmonds, WA, Kathy Hayes, Chetek, Irene Rich, Nevada City, CA, many nieces and nephews, other relatives, many friends, and his beloved dog, Penny.  He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and a sister, Barbara Strand.

A celebration of Dale’s life will be held from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m., on Sunday September 26, 2010, with a special Remembrance Service at 2:00 p.m., with Chaplain Mike Amberg officiating.  The celebration will be held at Dale and Rhonda’s home at N4976 Beach Garden Rd., Poynette, WI 53955.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette is assisting the family.
