William (Bill) Robert Wilson POYNETTE -- William (Bill) Robert Wilson, age 86, died peacefully at his home in Poynette on Thursday, October 21, 2010, in the company of his wife of 55 years, Elfriede E. (Kurrent) Wilson. Bill was born in Columbus, WI, on November 23, 1923, to Valere and Almeda (Woodward) Wilson. He spent his early years on the family farms. Following his service in the U.S. Army in Europe in WWII, Bill spent the next ten years in his second adopted homeland of Austria where he married the love of his life, Elfi, on July 30, 1955, in Salzburg, Austria. Bill and Elfi returned to the United States in 1955 to raise their family in Poynette. After spending some years as Village Commissioner in Poynette, Bill became a baptized minister of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1963 and dedicated the remainder of his life to teaching bible truths in that capacity. Bill is survived by his wife, Elfi, and their children; Sieglinda (Donald) Walker, Robert (Janice) Wilson, Walter (Jill) Wilson, and Richard Wilson; his sister, Alice (Fred Kay) Teeter; his grandchildren, Brent Wilson, Amanda (Justin) Hustad, Kimberly Wilson, and Jacob Wilson; his great-grandchildren, Mason Hustad and Dominic Wilson, and over the years he also acquired grandchildren, Alana (Ethan) Eastlick, Amy (Jason) Havlik, Ryan (Kim) Boardman, and Tim (Miranda) Boardman; and great-grandchildren, Brett, Brynn, and Tristan Eastlick, and Mackenzie and Karsyn Havlik, along with numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Valere and Almeda, his stepmother, Florence, his granddaughter, Heather (Wilson) Tippery, his niece, Allison (Teeter) Hampshire, and his nephew, Michael Teeter.
