Margery I. Staudenmayer

PORTAGE  --  Margery I. Staudenmayer, age 84, of Portage, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Divine Savior Extended Care in Portage, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Margery was born on May 20, 1926, in Portage, the daughter of Ralph and Clara (Scherbert) Staudenmayer. She spent her youth in New York City and appeared in a number of movies as an extra.  Margery was an extraordinary, independent and free-spirited person, up to the end of her life.  She moved back to her home town of Portage forty years ago.  Margery had a great love of the outdoors and animals.  She was a member of the Friends of the McKenzie Environmental Center and Friends of Devils Lake State Park.  Margery is survived by nieces and nephews, and step-nieces.  Margery was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Earl Staudenmayer, and Robert Staudenmayer. 

At Margery’s request, no service will be held.
