Kyle John Kjorlie

PORTAGE  --  Kyle John Kjorlie, age 17, of Portage, died on Sunday, June 5, 2011, as the result of an automobile accident. 

Kyle was born in Portage, on February 6, 1994, the son of Brian and Jennifer (Cross) Kjorlie.  His faith came first being a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  Kyle loved acting, playing, singing, and composing music.  He had just completed his junior year at Portage High School, having been active in track, curling, and football.  Kyle loved all hunting.

Kyle is survived by his parents, Brian and Jennifer Kjorlie, Portage;  his brother, Austin Kjorlie, Portage; his grandparents, Dale and Pat Cross, Cambria, and Rita Preuss, Portage;  his Great-grandmothers, Dorothy Schwochert, Montello, and Mary Cross, Portage; his aunts and uncles, Russ (Amy Jo) Cross, Mark (Cara) Cross, Amy (Rob) Kinsman, Jeff (Jessie) Cross, Pam (Dick) Onstad, Bill Kjorlie, and Paula (Tom) Larrabee, many cousins, and many, many friends.  Kyle was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Kjorlie, his Great-grandfathers, Elmer Schwochert, and Henry Cross, his Great-grandparents, Thaddeus & Dorothy (Parks) Pearson, and his cousin, Marissa Kinsman.    

Funeral services will be held at 6p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, W8267 Hwy 33 East, Portage, with Rev. Dick Inglett officiating.  Private family graveside services will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, Portage.  Visitation will be held from 3p.m. until 6p.m. on Thursday, at the church.  Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial in Kyle’s name.
