Vernon L. Arnold

 

PORTAGE – Vernon L. Arnold, age 83, died on Sunday, August 7, 2011, at Tivoli in Portage.

Vernon was born on August 12, 1927 in Ironwood, Mich., the son of Harold and Doris Arnold.  He married Betty M. Jury in Neenah, on July 29, 1950.  Vernon served his country in the United States Navy during WWII.  He was a self-employed stone mason and also worked for Gunderson Construction, and Kraemer Brothers.  He had a terrific sense of humor, and a great love for his family.    

Vernon is survived by his mother, Doris Thayer, Cornell; his children, Linda (Chet) Andreachi, Post Falls, Idaho, and their children, Patrick and Mary, Cathy (Allan) Johnson, Delavan, Mary (Andy) Rich, Deforest, and their children, Si and Tina, and Ruth (Mark) Egger, Poynette, and their son, Jason; his daughter-in-law, Cheryl Arnold, and her children, Zach and Kaylee, and great-grandchildren, other relatives and close friends.  Vernon was preceded in death by his father, his wife, Betty, his son, Eddy Arnold, and his sister, Beatrice Alvarado.  

Private services will be held.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
