Cody A. Blomgren
ARLINGTON – Cody A. Blomgren, 16, of Arlington, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at University Hospital, as a result of an automobile accident. Cody was born on November 6, 1994 in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Ted and Lori (Lewis) Blomgren. He was a junior at Poynette High School, where he was a member of the Poynette High School Football Team. Cody loved hunting, fishing, hanging by grandma’s pool, and also traveling north to Mercer, Wisconsin. Cody and Taylor had a special brotherly bond; they liked to do many things together. He had worked for U.W. Arlington Agricultural Research Farm. Cody is survived by his parents, Ted and Lori Blomgren, Arlington; his brother, Taylor Blomgren, Arlington; grandparents, Al and Fran Lewis, DeForest; grandmother and step-grandfather, Diane and Mel Wangerin, DeForest; aunts and uncles, Tony and Deb Lewis and their children, Brooke, Jadeyn, and Paige, Dane, and Kim Butner and her son, Jacob, Sun Prairie; his great-grandparents, Roy and Janet Carley, Darrell and Audrey Blomgren; his girlfriend, Kayla Rodger; his best friend, Jack Mell. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ted L. Blomgren, and his great-grandparents, Velma and Frank Roy, Narvil Lewis, and Leyona Lewis. Memorial services will be held at Poynette High School on Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at Poynette High School on Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow the memorial service. The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette is assisting the family. The family would like to give a special thanks to: DeForest EMS, UW Medflight and UW Trauma Unit. Also; very special thanks to all our family and friends for all your love and support. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been set up at the Bank of Poynette.
