Lucille M. Coon Weyh

PORTAGE - Lucille M. Coon Weyh, 85, passed away Friday, March 18, 2011, at her home in Portage.

Lucille was born April 7, 1925, in the town of New Haven in Adams County, the daughter of the late Harold and Nellie Hayes Coon. She was united in marriage July 3, 1942, to Floyd Weyh of the town of Lewiston near Portage, where they farmed until 1967. For many years they enjoyed traveling and spent winters in Arizona. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many close friends and loved gardening.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Beverly) of Portage, David (Rosalie) of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Keith (Lois) of Briggsville; seven grandchildren, Joel, David (Mia), and Ashleigh Weyh of Michigan, Michael (Susan) Weyh of Portage, Brenda (Dang) Ervine of Schertz, Texas, Amy (Travis) Thomforde of Goodhue, Minn., and Amanda Weyh of Sparks, Nev.; and four great-grandchildren, Alex and Brenden Griffin of Florida, and Grace and Libby Thomforde of Minnesota. She is further survived by her sister, Mary Louise (Robert) Hopp, sister-in-law, Dorothy Coon, very special niece, Barbara Sellers and other nieces and nephews. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd, granddaughter, Michelle, and brother, Francis Coon.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. April 3 at Portage United Methodist Church, 1804 New Pinery Road, with the Rev. Tom Countryman officiating. A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be private.

The family would like to thank the Home Health United Hospice staff for their supportive care and compassion during Lucille's illness. Also a special thanks to Sue Rowe for her assistance in caring for Lucille in her home and to the many friends and family for visits, prayers and support.
