Frank Dekan

 

PORTAGE –  Frank Dekan, age 80, of Caledonia Township, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 7, 2011.

Frank was born on March 15, 1931 in Milwaukee, the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Kuri) Dekan.  He was married on June 7, 1952 to Marilyn “Mickie” Drumel.  He served his country with the 5th Army Reserve, 757 R.R. Shop Battalion, during the Korean War, 1951 to 1959.  Frank worked for Waukesha County as a maintenance mechanic.  He was a lifetime member of Wisconsin Trappers, a member of American Legion Post #47, a member of the National Rifle Association, and loved attending Grace Bible Church in Portage. 
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn “Mickie”;  two sons, Marvin (Amanda) Dekan, Pewaukee, and Michael (Petra) Dekan, North Prairie;  his grandchildren, Cyle, Barbara, Kelly, Brenda, Frank and Brooke; sixteen great-grandchildren;  his brothers-in-law, Daniel (Marlene) Drumel, Wind Lake, and James (Susan) Drumel, Kent, WA;  other relatives and many close friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, and Frances.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with the Rev. Steven Corbett officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.
