Marlene C. "Mitzi" Brodeur

POYNETTE –  Marlene C. “Mitzi” Brodeur, age 75, died peacefully on Friday, September 14, 2012 at her home in Poynette.

Marlene was born on November 5, 1936, in DeForest, the daughter of Carroll and Mary (Moran) Schultz.  She worked at Maple Bluff Country Club and various establishments in the Madison area.  Marlene loved to cook and take care of her neighbors, and had a special love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Poynette.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Ruth) Brodeur, Mauston, Robert (Linda) Brodeur, Poynette, James (Rosemarie) Brodeur, Steger, IL, William ( Kristy ) Kluender, Middleton, and Joseph Schwanz, Vail, AZ; her grandchildren, Jacob, Jena, and Joshua (Amy Fryk) Brodeur,  Katie Brodeur,  Cassandra and Jonathan Brodeur, Mitchell Kluender, and Jacob Oberwetter ; her great-grandchildren, Landon and Jameson Brodeur, and Boden Brodeur-Bruni; her brother, Randy (Sara) Schultz, Lodi; her sisters, Mona (Ronald) Duppen, DeForest, and Lois Anderson, DeForest, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close friends.  Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, and her son Thomas Brodeur. 

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2012 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Poynette, with Fr. Raymond Dischler presiding.  Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
