Gary E. Frye

POYNETTE – Gary E. Frye, age 64, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012,  at home in the Township of Dekorra surrounded by his family.

Gary was born on March 11, 1948, in Hillsboro, the son of Albert and Violet (Holloway) Frye. He served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam war. Gary was an avid bowler and enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and working in his garden.

Gary is survived by his children, Jennifer (Daniel) Devers, Watertown, Patricia (Bruce) Hutchinson, Poynette and Jonathan Frye, Dubai;  five grandchildren, Ethan, Paige, Cora, Grace and Elizabeth; brother, Darwin Frye, Pardeeville; sister, Janet Epps, DeForest; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Louise Frye and his son, Josh Frye.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at the Rio Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Barry Auch officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Run Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Area Veterans. Visitation is Friday, August 3, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage and on Saturday, at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
