Ruth D. “Penny” Graves

 

PORTAGE  –  Ruth D. “Penny” Graves, age 71, died on Monday, December 10, 2012, at Divine Savior Healthcare Hospital in Portage.

Ruth was born on June 15, 1941, in Ohio, the daughter of Harvey and Julia (Walters) Carney.  She had worked at many different jobs in her lifetime, but her main job was raising her children.  Penny loved the Packers, wrestling, NASCAR, and reading.  Her favorite pastime was shopping.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She was a big kid at heart.  Penny had attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Portage.  

Ruth is survived by her children, James Amour, Waupun, Candy (Dave) Kukla, Portage, Deanna (David) Krist, Westfield, and Bernadette (Shane) Nibbe, Illinois; her sisters, Kathy Goldsmith, Ward, AR, and Linda Carney, Westfield, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Patricia and Marian.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 14, 2012 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage with Fr. Jim Murphy presiding.  Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.  

The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
