Harold L. Jones

ENDEAVOR – Harold L. Jones, age 83, of the Township of Moundville, died on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at his home.

Harold was born on December 13, 1928 in Milwaukee the son of LeRoy and Mabel (Gorsline) Jones. He was raised in Moundville Township by his grandparents, Carrie and Fred Gorsline, after the death of his mother in 1930. Harold graduated from Endeavor High School in 1946. He was married to Dorothy Herrick on April 15, 1950 in Oxford. She preceded him in death on September 24, 2004. Harold farmed his entire life. He also worked at Badger Army Ammunition, DuBois Construction, and at the Cuff Feedmill. He volunteered for many years with the Endeavor fire department. He attended the Dalton Bible Church.

He is survived by his four daughters, Debra (James) Little, Minocqua, Diane (Roger) Barganz, Oxford, Darlene (Larry) Borud, Oxford, and Doreen (Dan) Sonnenberg, Oxford; 13 grandchildren, Rebecca (Joseph), Benjamin (Dawn), Todd (Stacci), Brian (Dena), Steven (Jenny), Heather (Erik), Gregory (Kori), Douglas (Hannah), Michael (Laurie), Janelle (Dennis), Chelsey (Chad), Derrick and Dana; 24 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; 2 sisters, Beatrice Mowry, Hartland, Nancy Martelle, Charlotte, NC; 2 brothers, Gerald (Norma) Jones, Kenosha, Dale Jones, San Antonio, TX; sister-in-law, Persis Vanderbilt, Oxford; other near relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dorothy.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Dalton Bible Church with Pastor George Noll officiating. Burial will follow in the Moundville Cemetery. Visitation will be from
4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
