Lucille A. Krueger

 

PORTAGE –  Lucille A. Krueger, age 88, of Portage, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Remington House in Pardeeville.

Lucille was born on January 4, 1924 in the Township of Caledonia, the daughter of Julius and Esther (Klug) Maass.  She was married on January 31, 1942 to George Krueger, Jr. in the Township of Caledonia.  He preceded her in death on December 21, 1983.  Lucille retired from Divine Savior Hospital as a nurse’s aide in 1981.  She then worked for her daughter, Judy, at Precision Hair Designers in Portage until 2006.  Lucy was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage, and The Mayflowers (Railroad Women’s Club).  She loved embroidering, playing cards, and especially her family.

She is survived by her children, Neil Krueger, Portage, Kay (John) O’Leary, Portage, Judy (Craig) Cawley, Pardeeville, Janet (Al) Nickel, Pardeeville, and Jodi (Ed) Steele, Endeavor;  15 grandchildren, Donna (Tim) Davis, Kevin Krueger, Tony (Amy) Krueger, Jenny Krueger, Mike (Kim) O’Leary, Tim (Tammy) O’Leary, Shannon (Troy) Neale, Katie (Robert) Blosser, Matt (Danielle) Cawley, Joellyn (Kevin) Helmet, Amber (Travis) Houslet, Justin (Jenny) Nickel, Emily (Justin Krueger) Steele, Lauren (Ryan) Bocinsky, and Amy Jo Steele;  32 great-grandchildren;  other near relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, her daughter-in-law, Marie Krueger, her sister, Arlene Paske, and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 850 Armstrong, Portage, Wisconsin, with the Rev. Alan Boeck officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Caledonia.  Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage, and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Remington House for the wonderful care given to Lucy.
