Cheryl A. “Cherie” Phillips

 

BELLA VISTA, ARKANSAS  /  PORTAGE –  Cheryl A. “Cherie” Phillips, age 55, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, with her family at her side, after a very courageous battle with cancer.

Cherie was born on September 27, 1956 in Portage, the daughter of Ned and Norma (Baxter) Taylor.  She graduated from Portage High School in 1974, and attended the Patricia Stevens Career College in Milwaukee.  On November 25, 1978, she married Tim Phillips.  Cherie worked for the Federal Government for 30 years, most recently as an administrative officer for the FAA in Atlanta, Georgia.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Phillips, Bella Vista, AR;  her sisters, Debbie (Ron) Dorn, Portage, Cindy (Bob) Blau, Portage, and Patty Taylor, Portage;  her sister-in-law, Karen Kirchner, Hot Springs Village, AR;  nieces and nephews, Rachel (Mike) Solt, Arlington, Melissa (Ray) Burkhart, Arlington, Tim (Kasey) Blau, Portage, Ryan Dorn, Portage, Kim Dorn, Portage, and Jim Kirchner, Hot Springs Village, AR;  great nieces and nephews;  other relatives and many close friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, Esther Muehl, Harry Baxter, Ethel and Harry Taylor, and her in-laws, Ruth and Elmer Phillips.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with the Rev. Dick Inglett officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be private.

The family suggests memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 900 N.E. Verdant, Bentonville, AR  72712, or the American Cancer Society.
