Elwood A. Schroeder

PORTAGE –   Elwood A. Schroeder, age 73, of Portage, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Tivoli in Portage.

Elwood was born on December 27, 1938, at the family farm in Ft. Winnebago Township, the son of August F. and Kathryn A. (Bangs) Schroeder.  He farmed and also worked for Red Curtis and Pardeeville Canning, the Portage Hosiery for 23 years, and delivered the Portage Daily Register.  Elwood loved to hunt and fish.  He was a member of the North Marcellon Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sister, Alice Schroeder, Township of Ft. Winnebago;  many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with Pastor Tom Moe officiating.  Burial will follow in North Marcellon Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.
