Dawn M. Leathers

PORTAGE –  Dawn M. Leathers, age 52, of Portage, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Divine Savior Healthcare Hospital in Portage.

Dawn was born on March 12, 1961, in Baraboo, the daughter of James and Norma (Bolgrin) Schmidtke.  She just celebrated 30 years of marriage with her husband Mike on July 24th.  Dawn devoted her life to her two main passions, her family, and gardening.  Time spent with family was of the utmost importance to Dawn.              

Dawn is survived by her husband, Mike Leathers, Portage; her children, Jeremy (Amy) Leathers, Shanen Leathers, and Elizabeth Leathers, all of Portage; her grandchildren, Autum, Vincent, Tristyn, Riley, and one on the way; her brothers, Kim (Cindy) Schmidtke, Wisconsin Dells, Kip (Connie) Schmidtke, Portage, and Kevin Schmidtke, Madison, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents,  

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Friday, August 30, 2013, at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.  Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be held on Friday, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
