Elaine S. Berg Lubke

PORTAGE  --  Elaine S. Berg Lubke

Elaine began her eternal life on November 15, 2013 with her family by her side.  She was born on March 12, 1925 in Bottineau, North Dakota.  She married her high school sweetheart, “ Tiny” (E. W.) Lubke on January 13, 1945.  They settled in Portage Wisconsin 46 years ago after living previously in northern Minnesota.  Elaine spent her life as a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother and is considered to be the “Wind Beneath our Wings” by many.

She is survived by her brother Larry (Gert) Berg, Kansas City, KS; her five children:  Margaret Lubke (Antonio Arce), Logan, Utah; Wayne (Renee) Lubke Hatfield, Wisconsin; Jim Lubke, Bemidji, Minnesota;  David Lubke, Bemidji, Minnesota; and Jean (Terry Mohr), Portage, Wisconsin;.  nine   grandchildren: Michael, Sawyer, and Steven Lubke; Jennifer, and Sigurd Lubke; Jamie (Michael Carney), Nikki (Jason Callin), Eric and Julia Mohr;  three great grandchildren—A.J. and Gabriel Carney and Everett Callin; and many four-legged grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Tiny; her parents, Sigurd and Julia Berg, her sisters—Gwenivere, Madelyn, Bernice, and Iola.

We would like to thank our many friends, Mom’s next door neighbors (Keith and Betty Nollenberg), Janice Petersen,  Pastor Dick Inglett, and the many employees at Home Health United who cared for Mom and supported our family.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Portage with a visitation beginning at 11:00a.m.  Pastor Dick Inglett will officiate. Burial will be in Silver Lake Cemetery following the service. The Pflanz, Mantey, Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is coordinating arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to  Home Health United or to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
