Dale R. Peterson

PORTAGE   --  Dale R. Peterson, 6-29-1956 to 12-5-2013. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Cor. 5:8  

Dale was born in Madison, the son of Lavern and Shirley (Hall) Peterson.  He married Cynthia Anderson on March 27, 1994.  Dale worked as a Soil Conservation Technician for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service for 32 years.  He was a member of CrossPoint Assembly of God where he served as a deacon.  He was lead guitarist and vocals for Prairie Smoke Bluegrass Band.  

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Peterson, Portage; his parents, Lavern and Shirley Peterson, Sheboygan; his children, Dana Peterson, Brighton, MI, Luke (Leah) Fronczak, Appleton, and his son Christopher and his mother, Morgan Dunn, Oshkosh, and Corey (Maria) Peterson, Howell, MI and their son, Noah; his brothers, Neil (Janet) Peterson, Fond du Lac, and Jeff (Tami) Peterson, Sheboygan; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Richard and Crystal Anderson, Iola; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wayne (Gayle) Anderson, Thornton, CO, Dale (Janice) Moe, Iola, Tom (Becky) Diedrick, Seymour, Ken (Susan) Pierce, Iola, and Kari Anderson, Iola, other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his nephew, Kyle Peterson of Green Bay, and his niece, Jaclyn Anderson of Thornton, CO. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Crosspoint Assembly of God in Portage, with the Rev. Randy Mantik officiating.  Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, and on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice, Fitchburg.
