Dorothy L. Pulsfus

DEFOREST/POYNETTE  -- Dorothy L. Pulsfus, age 96, of Poynette, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Parkside Assisted Living in DeForest. 

Dorothy was born on May 19, 1916, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Eli and Bertha (Krueger) Halle.  She married Herbert Pulsfus on November 4, 1939 in Fond du Lac.  In 1960, their family received The All American Family Award.  Herbert preceded her in death on October 15, 2009.  For 27 years they wintered in Ruskin, Florida.  Dorothy was a member of Dekorra Lutheran Church and the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed baking, crafting, playing cards, painting, bingo, and she especially enjoyed her church.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Nancy (Gary) Elsing, Poynette, Gary (Maureen Kelly) Pulsfus, St. Augustine, FL;  her grandchildren, Pamela (Mike Kennedy) Elsing, Kristen (Grant) Lindner, Paul (Mary) Elsing, Eric Pulsfus, and Kerry Wegmann;  great-grandchildren, Sven Wegmann, Leyla Wegmann, Jackson Elsing, Dylan Elsing, Jack Pulsfus, and Samuel Pulsfus;  her sister, Shirley (John) Ziesmer, Lakeland, FL; her brother-in-law, Henry Pulsfus, Portage;  her sisters-in-law, Alice Lanzendorf, Lodi, Esther McDonald, Madison, and Madeline Shaw, DeForest, Marion Pulsfus, DeForest, Gen Pulsfus, Poynette, and Hilda Pulsfus, Prairie du Sac, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert, and her brother, Lyle Halle.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Dekorra Lutheran Church, N3099 Smith Rd., Poynette, WI 53955, with the Rev. Ryan Rouse officiating. Inurnment will be private in Hillside Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 East Cheryl Parkway, Madison 53711, and/or Dekorra Lutheran Church.
