Reginald W. “Tex” Sanford

POYNETTE  --  Reginald W. “Tex” Sanford, age 87, of Poynette, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2013 at his home in Lowville Township. He lost a courageous battle with cancer.                                 .

Reginald W. Sanford was born on August 30, 1926 in Troup, Texas, the son of Arthur and Ora (Linkenhoker) Sanford. Reginald served in the US Army in World War II.  He married Carole R. Stickrod on January 5, 1954. He worked on the Pipeline as a sideboom operator traveling all over the United States.
He helped build the Alaska Pipeline. He was a loving husband, father, brother, friend, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was loved by all those who knew him.  He believed in God and worshiped Him in his own way.  He was a tough bird with a gentle soul. He will be missed by all who knew him. Our loss, Heavens gain. 

He is survived by two sisters, Myra and Lila; two children, Tony (Karen) and Carole Goodman; grandchildren, Nicolle, Jacque, Shawn, Kari, Rick, Austin, D.J., Melissa; great-grandchildren, Latone, Asaviya, Mason and Acetyn; special friend, Kareen Gorman; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Arthur and Ora Sanford, his wife, Carole and his daughter, Shelia.

Honoring Reginald’s wishes there will be no service only a visitation. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette.
