Dennis W. “Denny” Shaw

DALTON  /  PORTAGE  --  Dennis W. “Denny” Shaw, age 65, of Dalton, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at his home.

Dennis was born on December 9, 1947 in Columbus, Wisconsin, the son of George and Mary (Kuphal) Shaw.  He was married on July 1, 1989 in Portage, to Jacquelin J. Hankins.  Denny belonged to the Westfield Roadrunners, and was a member of the Jaycees.  He raced motorcycles and loved to go fishing with his grandchildren. Denny was a “Jack of all Trades”, and he loved to putz around.  He enjoyed grilling out and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie;  his children, Brett Shaw, Shane Shaw, Nicole Wendt, Christopher Hankins, Judith (Gabriel) Stark, and Joseph (Donna) Lawless;  his grandchildren, Tiffany, Rudie, Chasity, Taylor, Dale, Andrew, Robert, Glenn, William, Steven, Austin L., Dustin, Austin, Payton, Clayton, Alexander, and Damian;  his great-grandchildren, Lucas, Nathan and Renesmee;  his brother, William (Clarice) Shaw;  his niece, Dawn Shaw;  his nephew, Dean (Flora) Shaw;  his mother-in-law, Flora Hankins;  his best friends, Bernie Fritz, Jr., Harley Heintz, Lester Heintz, and Patty and Dewey Schedler;  other close family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Jackie G. T. Hankins.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with the Rev. David Hankins officiating.  Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.
