Gloria J. Blystone Heuser

PORTAGE – Gloria J. Blystone Heuser, age 82, died on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Divine Savior Healthcare Hospital in Portage. 

Gloria was born on August 14, 1930, in Plainfield, Wisconsin, the daughter of Milton and Belva Allison.  Together with her husband, Ed, they started Blystones Repair Service in 1950.  She did all of the bookkeeping for the business while raising 4 children.  She was a volunteer for the Head Start program where she would read to 3-5-year olds as part of the Home and Community Education Bookworms program.  She was a member of the Wauona Women’s Club and she participated in a singles group.  Gloria loved flowers and activities with her grandchildren.  She always kept the cookie jar full of cookies.  She loved the Lord and is with him now. 

Gloria is survived by her children, Jerry (Cindy) Blystone, Portage, Sandy (Emery) Benson, Merrimac, Patty (Joe) Horkan, Portage, and Vicky (Dave) Kohler, Portage; her grandchildren, Craig (Amy) Blystone, Portage, Kari (Arnold) Preston, Portage, Stacy (Chris Ward) Benson, Chicago, Stephanie (Tadd Brensike) Benson, Portage, Sherry Benson, Portage, Rob Horkan, Portage, Christy (Jeremy) Casteel, Sun Prairie, Aaron Kohler, Portage, Ashlyn Kohler, Portage; 11 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husbands, Edward J. Blystone and Donald Heuser, and by her brother, Gordon Allison.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Oxford Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
