Scott Allen Schumann

PORTAGE  --  Scott Allen Schumann, age 39, of Poynette, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013, as a result of an automobile accident.

He was born on November 19, 1973 in Lancaster, Wisconsin, the son of Gary and Glenna (Neilson) Schumann.  Scott graduated from Westfield High School in 1991, and attended Mount Scenario College.  He had lived in Tennessee for the last 15 years;  coming home this fall.  Scott enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved all sports.  He played baseball throughout his college years.  Scott was working at Tri-Enda in Portage, and had recently joined his parents’ real estate business.

He is survived by his parents, Gary and Glenna Schumann, Poynette;  his sister, Brenda Schumann, Poynette;  nieces, Mykiah Schumann and Nierra Schumann;  his grandparents, Donald Schumann, Portage, and Ione Neilson, Portage;  his ex-wife, Jen Richardson;  his aunts, Mary (Tim) Gurlea, Stevens Point, Sally (Gil) Wagner and family, Pewaukee, and Cindy (Tom) Luedeman and family, Portage;  his dog, Max;  other relatives and many close friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Harris Neilson, and his grandma, Elaine Schumann.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage, with the Rev. Daniel Kelm officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, and on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.     

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
