Alvin Junior Blackburn

PORTAGE/ REEDSBURG - Alvin Junior Blackburn age 80 of Reedsburg passed away on Wednesday, December 23rd 2015  at the Golden Living Center in Wisconsin Dells.

Alvin was born in Tustin, Wisconsin on May 7th 1935 to Rose (Baird) Blackburn and Ernest Blackburn.  Alvin served in the Army National Guard for 5 years and was honorably discharged in 1963. He was employed at the Portage Cheese Factory and the Ray O Vac, both in Portage. Alvin and Kathleen ran KB Daycare in the Wisconsin Dells area for 10 years during the 1990’s.

Alvin is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kathleen (McCarthy) Blackburn of Reedsburg; his son Andrew Alvin (Karen) Blackburn of Alleman, Iowa, nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 5th 2016 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrela Funeral Home in Portage.  Burial will follow in Pacific Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
