Helen (Anderson) Jamieson

POYNETTE  --  Helen (Anderson) Jamieson, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Poynette.  

Helen was born on July 1, 1926 in Wisconsin, the daughter of Edwin and Winnifred (Nesbitt) Anderson.  She married Thomas Jamieson on August 30, 1952.  He preceded her in death on April 6, 2002. Helen had earned her Bachelor’s degree from Carlton College in Northfield, MN, and her Masters in Social Work from UW-Madison.  Early in her life she loved Curling.  She enjoyed playing Bridge, gardening and bird watching. She was a patron of the Poynette Library, and a friend of the Mackenzie Environmental Center.  She supported the Poynette Friends of the Fine Arts.   

Helen is survived by her sons, Christopher (Sandra) Jamieson, of Racine, Peter (Gwenda Ferris) Jamieson, of Durango, CO, and Stuart (Brenda) Jamieson, of Oak Park, IL; her grandchildren, Nicole Jamieson, of Racine, Andrew Barnes Jamieson, of Oakland CA, Rachel Barnes Jamieson, of New York, NY, and Patrick Jamieson, of Milwaukee; her brothers, Robert (Dorothy) Anderson, of Adams, John Anderson of Brookfield, other relatives and many friends.  Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas, her brother, William Anderson, and her sister-in-law, Beverly Anderson.

At her request there will be no services or visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Friends of the Poynette Library.
