Edith K. Johnson

PORTAGE  --  Edith K. Johnson, age 97, of Portage, died on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Tivoli in Portage.

Edith was born on April 12, 1917 in Caledonia Township, the daughter of Anton and Lydia (Tompkins) Jerrison. Edith married Russell Johnson on November 1, 1941 in Portage.  She was employed at Sears for many years.  Edith was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.    

She is survived by her grandson, Christopher (Lesley) Johnson, of Cottage Grove; her great-grandson, Jacob Johnson; her sister, Verna Koepp, of Richland, WA, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Russell Johnson, her son, Duane Johnson, her sisters, Isabel and Dorothy, and her brother, Russell. 

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in the chapel at Tivoli in Portage, with Chaplain Tom Moe officiating.  Private inurnment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the nursing home.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Tivoli who provided care to Edith throughout the years she was a resident there.
